About WordSmith PR
We are word nerds. Perhaps it would be more apropos and cultured to use the term semanticists, but who would we be kidding? We have thesaurus.com on our Favorites list. We get the "word of the day" in multiple languages. We spend our weekends editing Wikipedia. We have fun with puns. A new addition to the Oxford English Dictionary interests us. We even get excited when we come across a word we haven't seen before.
Why should this matter to you? Because knowing how to use words in the most effective way is the key to getting your message across. And we're experts at that.
One Size Does Not Fit All! This is true in clothing, hats, socks, gloves (sorry O.J.), and even when it comes to the words you use to reach your audiences.
That's why it's important to customize your messages to each of those audiences... to use language created for them. We're not saying you need to "talk down" to them. But you're the one trying to talk to them, so what we're saying is that it's up to you to meet them on their ground.
Lawyers and doctors are both highly educated, so are tech project managers and most of the consumers of their products, but neither pair speaks remotely the same language or get their information from the same sources. So when one side wants to communicate with the other, there needs to be more than middle ground, the communicator needs to get rid of industry jargon and "marketing-speak" and translate the message into words the audience will listen to, will understand and will act on. That's exactly what we do.~ So what can we do for you?
